That's so fucking cool! I had no idea they'd actually broken through that last barrier. Last I had heard they were trying some funny combos of retanoic acid and salamander genes. Why the hell didn't they try the spinal cord? Although I'm guessing if the brain didn't regenerate, the cord wouldn't either. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes open for the article when/if it gets published.

Funny timing too. There's a conference on nerve regeneration in Banff in a few weeks, this might be on the discussion list...

But isn't the tail part of the spinal cord? And the article said the tail grew back....

The spinal cord actually stops long before the tail starts (it ends just behind the hips). The tail is just nerves bone and muscles.
