Yeah, a lot of what you post ends up being in the music-I-should-have-embraced-at-the-time-but-only-realise-after-my-own-obsessions-have-formed-and-I-look-back-and-catch-on-to-the-awesome... i.e.; the 4gb folder of "Jazz, soul, blues, musicals" that wasn't started until October of last year but really I could have saved a lot of time and just paid attention to your posts more closely. But thank you, because I doubt that would have even come about if I hadn't picked up the odd Etta James or Helen Kane track.
My two cents on the eventual failure - you can only be introduced to Pulp once, maybe twice if you have an especially bad memory. So while new people filing in, need that grounding in what's relatively familiar, those who have been around long enough might already have those Sinatra tracks from their own musical expansion and have a strong need for the gems you dig up from asioaquaticfranciqua or 1896... but if you keep catering to them you alienate the people who really need to be told Sam Cooke is God... and vice versa.
man o man, Alicia, I enjoyed every moment of our beginnings with this community, that summer where I had a radio show and people from the community listened and I shared amazing things that came to me by way of my radio station job.
Summer of '05 was deliciously amazing.
Also, how nuts is it that Tim and I met on here...We're at our 2 yr. and 5 month marker and live together in an apartment in Boston. It's real crazy, ferrealz. I love telling the story to people.
You know how much I love you, I hope. I need to write you sometime. Also, I need to round up some books to send along to you <3
