I loved the little bagpipe jam outs. The kidsbop walmart song reminded me of adult swim. I stopped after 15 minutes because I didn't think anything new was coming up. The opera rap pissed me off because I know a lot of music majors. I can't explain.
The most unwanted song for me is the moonfleck or something like that from Pierrot Lunaire by Schoenberg. The opera stuff around 6 minutes sounded kind of like that, but they'd need to try a lot harder to piss me off as much as that song.
Ah, totally heard this on This American Life! There are definitely parts that irked me, however, there were also parts that I loved. The instrumental parts were pretty fantastic, I'll agree.

its brilliance is its schizophrenia and the vocals are a key part of that schizophrenia. sure the vocals insure that you can never play this and have someone mistake you for "cool" or whatever but the singing is still half of what make this a journey worth taking. at at 20 minutes i'm not being pretentiously poetic by calling it a 'journey'.
