one time my mom stayed outside talking to a "pregnant saleswoman from detroit selling cleaner to collect money to go to college" and came back inside with her shoe, her wedding ring, and our sidewalk cleaned. all with the same cleaner. or maybe the time my parents said that they got mistaken for gang members because a car slowed down to look at them while they were walking in the neighborhood.
