Halloween

Hello fellow Pentecostals,
I have a question for y'all.
As a kid growing up, were you not allowed to celebrate Halloween? We always had the alternative "Hallelujah Harvests" at church.
Do you think Halloween is evil?

I personally don't like it. I wasn't raised in Pentecost but I know that a lot of us don't like Halloween. My pastor in FL (I'm in TX now) allowed it, though. We did have a fall festival type thing at the church, though, and actually they started a thing where you'd decorate your car and have candy in it so the kids in the church could come there. It was a safety thing, I think. Personally, I think since it comes from pagan practices and basically stems from fear, that it's not a good idea to practice it. My understanding of the giving of candy is that it comes from when people would leave out food so evil spirits wouldn't play "tricks" on them. As children of God, we already have the victory over evil and thus we don't need to give them anything to appease them.

Besides... a lot of guys dress in drag on halloween... it's disgusting! But as I said, this is me personally.

I came upon your sight while searching for Nine Inch Nails and thought maybe since Christ was crucified, there'd be some connection.. (nails, cross, great music)just a question.
