dear you,

Jun 07, 2004 15:55

if i go to lunch or dinner with someone, and the waiter or waitress comes up for the orders of beverages, someone always orders water.

that someone always makes me feel like i'm rotting myself if i order anything other than water.

if you're that person, i hate you.

and i'll get whatever i damn well please.

it's not that i dislike water, it's just that i like to have something with a distinct taste when i go out.

it's..... fancier, i guess...

it's not so much the fact that you would order water, it's just that you'd always say it first and then look at me as if i should follow in your footsteps.

i have but one word for that feeling.

"grah."

I always order water, and only water. All of my friends do, too. No one orders anything that's not water, ever. Well, MAYBE. But it's SOOO rare.

Why?

Because a drink at a restaurant is at least a couple dollars, and it adds up after refills and really isn't worth it at all.

i don't know what restaurant you were eating at, but refills tend to be on the free side and my drink cost less than a dollar.

Ah, well. Take into consideration that I live near the more glitzy area of Los Angeles (Hollywood, Beverly Hills, etc) so maybe that's it.
