Ever since you told me about Zen and the Art of Motorcyle Maintenance, I've wanted to read it. I'm pretty sure I'm reading Catcher in the Rye after I finish Choke. I heard of Henry Throeau somewhere and I was going to look up on his stuff too.

violent femmes since 8th grade? nice. i couldnt even tell you when i started, probably since i started riding in cars with my sister. so, like 5th? 6th grade?

Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
The Art of Looking Sideways by Alan Fletcher (not really a novel but a really random collection of thoughts)
anything by Henry Throeau or Ralph Emerson are great reads.
and Friedrich Nietzsche killed Jim Morrison but hes still amazing.
