Hi, I hope you don't mind me asking here, but I replied to one of your posts in ihearttattoos. (I was the one who asked about inkstop.) I will be 18 when I go in to get my work done (it'll be one of those typical 18th birthday tattoo days), but my only real/"acceptable" form of ID is currently mia (don't ask; very frustrating long story) and I don't know if I'll be getting a replacement in time. So my question is, how rigidly do they check to make sure that you are of age?
Thanks so much in advance, and I'll delete this as soon as you respond =]
hm, well, honestly, i don't remember them checking my id at inkstop, which i normally consider to be shady & bad, but they were so professional otherwise that i didn't even realize that they hadn't until after the fact. as far as other places, i'd say you'd most likely need an id. that said, it can depend on a lot of things. some shops card meticulously every single time, regardless of how old you look. i can't really say what will happen to you, so my advice is to wait until you have id. if you don't live too far from new york and could stand to get turned away, then i'd say go for it.
good luck! :]
ps i looked at your interests & they're cool. mind if i add you?
Thank you so much for the info! And I wouldn't mind you adding me, but I try not to add people whom I don't know to my livejournal. I've experienced weird/bad drama concerning that before - so it's only a safety issue. I'm really sorry, it's nothing personal! I will totally understand if you felt like un-adding me. <3Jen
