Senior cut in Frisco.
Andy called me way too early on Friday. He had to go to third period because of his ROTC class, so we decided not to leave until he got to Michael's house, which was the designated meet-up place. Anyways, he called me three or four times starting at 730, but I didn't pick up until around nine when I was ready to get up. Haha. Chit chatted while he cleaned up his room and talked him into biking to school when he got lazy. He had to get ready for school, so we hung up and I went to get ready for the day.
I got to Michael's around 1030 when most everyone was there already. Michael, Tristain, Chi, and Alice were playing Rockband. Anthony and Hong were doing physics. Sagar was looking through old yearbooks. So we hung out at Michael's playing games and joking around until Andrew biked up, and by then Kim had come by, too. We split up into two cars to get to the Fremont BART station. Car one: Michael (driver), Alice, Chi, Kim, and me. Car two: Tristan (driver), Andrew, Anthony, Hong, and Sagar. Car two had to go to school so Anthony could drop off his notebook for physics, so we just went ahead and told them we'd wait at the station.
Half way to Fremont, Andrew called and told us that Anthony had gone in to turn in his notebook, but he had gotten locked in. Hear about it yet? After the stabbing on Tuesday, Friday the victim's brother tried to get revenge (or so I've heard) and so the school went on a code BLUE lock down. I don't get why it wasn't a red, but whatever. Anyways, Anthony got stuck and they told us to go ahead to Frisco without them and that they'd meet up with us. Poor Anthony. He has such bad luck. Haha.
We got to Frisco, had some trouble figuring out how to work the tickets, and got on the BART that showed up a minute or two after we got on the platform. The ride there was pretty uneventful. Andrew called again to give us an update, and told us that Hong had gotten off campus (I guess he went to turn in his notebook, too) but Anthony just so happened to be in the area they had quarantined. Haha. So, the guys were hanging out at Tristan's house for Anthony's parents to go pick him up, because they weren't releasing anyone without their parents.
Our group got to Frisco and, after getting off at Embarcadero, we went to China town to get some lunch. We made Alice order for us in Chinese, and that was pretty funny, because the waiter confirmed everything in English anyways, so she had to basically order in both languages. Afterwards, we called the guys and they said that they were on the BART, so we hung out at a playground we found and took some pictures. Walked up and down part of Grant St waiting for them. They called us and told us that they were at Old Saint Mary's Cathedral, the landmark I had given them to finding us with their GPS, and so we went inside looking for them.
I was walking with Kim, who was really excited to go into the church because she loves learning about different cultures and religions and had never been in a church before. I was just whispering to her that they were probably going to pop up out of no where to scare us when they did and she screamed. In church. It sounded so loud, but I think it wasn't much more than a loud squeak. Haha. We left the church and had a good laugh before deciding we'd look for some spy shop Andy wanted to go to. Apparently, it's located an area with a lot of strip clubs, but we didn't know where to go. Haha.
We ended up at some mall with really good frozen yogurt. Yum. I didn't buy any, but I had a bite of a few different ones that were good, considering I don't like yogurt. Yes, I know I'm weird.
After our yogurt break, we decided to head towards Fisherman's Wharf for some clam chowder. Finally. Haha. Frisco is clam chowder to me. I have to have clam chowder, or else it isn't a complete trip. It took us a while because we kept stopping to look at stuff, but it was fun. Chi, Kim, Andy and I were singing the whole way to the Wharf. Haha. We must have looked quite crazy.
So, I got my clam chowder. Chyeah. We saw this break dance group put on a show, too. They told us to make a tight circle so that the cops wouldn't see them. Haha. It was pretty good, but not the best I've seen on the streets, by far. Haha. I still gave them some money, though, because my brother used to do street performing at the Wharf, too. Down a couple of paces from the break dancers was one of those spray paint artists that do scenic stuff. It was very cool. I think about four of us walked away with stuff. Michael bought me the teal one I was eying, he bought himself one, Alice bought one he hadn't made yet, and Anthony bought one to add to the collection of MoMA posters he has.
We hung out on the Wharf for a while before realizing how late it was. Haha. We decided to head back, but Anthony, Andrew, and Tristan wanted food, so we told them to use Andy's GPS and we'd meet them at the BART station. We walked down Embarcadero, and all of a sudden Tristan calls me and asks of Anthony and Andrew are with us. Apparently, he had gotten separated some how. So, we just told Tristan to walk down Embarcadero and see if he can catch up with us. Haha. I called Andy and told him to just go straight to BART with Anthony and not worry about Tristan after he caught up with us.
So, when we got to BART, the train pulled up right when we got on the platform - great timing. We were still missing Anthony and Andrew, but we got on anyways and decided we'd wait for them at the Fremont station. We had to wait around 20 minutes for them once we got to Fremont, but it was fun. Michael drove us back to San Jose where he dropped off Chi and Alice, and drove me and Kim back to his house. We actually beat the other group to Michael's, even with dropping two people off. Haha. When I got in my car to drive home, Tristan pulled his car right behind mine and all of the guys jumped out and swarmed my car. Ahh. Andrew actually jumped in and turned on "In My Car," this song he's been obsessed with lately. So they kept me on the driveway for a good five minutes while we were goofing off before I left.
Not even a minute out of the court, I got a call to come back because Andrew had left his stuff in my car. I made a quick u-turn and turned back into the court.. And almost ran over Andrew, who was lying face down in the middle of the street. Keep in mind, this is at 9 at night. Haha. We were all hella laughing when Andrew came by and got his stuff, but grabbed my purse, too. I chased him down the street a bit before stopping. I heard a thump behind me and looked to see Sagar and Tristan sitting on my trunk. Another thump, and Andrew was sprawled across my windshield. Haha. I turned the windshield wipers on on him, but he just moved back when they stopped. So, I turned on the spray, too.
He said something about having just washed the jacket, but stayed on the windshield anyways. I have a print of his face on my window now because my windshield wipers can't reach it. Haha. Anyways, after another five or so minutes, they finally got off my car and I went down the court to make a u-turn to get out. Making my way down the street to leave, my headlights hit a chain of guys holding hands to block the street. Gaaah. I pulled up really close to Michael and Andy who were directly in front of me. Andrew had his eyes closed and Michael put his foot up on my bumper. Haha. They all jumped when I honked my horn hella loud, though, because it was so quiet out. It took a few more tries, but I finally got out of the court and was on my way home.
It was a really fun day to just hang out with everyone, no stress, no drama, no pressure, nothing to worry about. We weren't even that worried about getting lost because that had been the plan to begin with. Haha. I thought it was really cool that my mom let me out to Frisco with my friends, though, especially since she didn't give me a curfew and didn't freak out about Michael driving us to Fremont and then us taking the BART. It felt good that she trusted me and my friends, most of them I don't think she's really spoken to. Going out with her permission is really fun because I like having her trust. Chi, Kim and I were talking about that on the way back to the station, and we kind of slowly realized that we really were growing up. I mean, we've grown up enough that our parents have to acknowledge it and are okay with us going out on our own. It's a good feeling and it just made the day even better.
