I wonder if I've inherited both my mother's propensity for anal-retentive organization and my father's non-challance, and these things are forever at war with the other. I always get so depressed and frustrated by the simple task of cleaning my room because I feel there aren't enough organizers - shelf space and so on - so I either throw everything in the trash or I just stop doing it. Then comes the hour and a half of beating myself up because who does this? Who gets anxious and depressed over cleaning their room?
Oh, me too! me too! I'll be cleaning and mom will come in and tell me how I'm doing it wrong. This is after she nags me because I left the vacuum exactly one foot from where she wanted it. It's ok for her to be lazy but if I take on a task, I'm going to do it her way.
