Noah Compton: Part 1

Jun 20, 2004 15:10

I have just completed the first part of a two-part story! If any of you would be so kind to read it, that would be lovely...

Enjoy: Of all days to eat at ‘Kopps Pot’, when the weather was blistering and feverish. Gee, Noah sure could have picked them. And when it came to restaurants, when the weather was too hot to cook, the man decided to come to ( Read more... )

::grin:: I like it. A lot. It's like I'm reading a real book - published and all that jazz. :D It's certainly good 'nuff for that so far! ^^ I can't wait until you finish. It's gotten me hooked. :D

Really? You liked it and thought the grammer was good? That's great! xD Thanks. I've been trying to improve. :)

After reading this, I finally figured out what I like the most about your writting (and what comes as a solid second). I like the short, cynical/funny things you write at the end of a sentence or a thought that only the reader/character might think of in the back of their head that really doesn't HAVE to be in the story. Like, From Shelly, with love. I actually laughed out loud from that one. XD ( ... )

It's confusing? All right. I'll patch holes up. xD! Maybe you can re-read it for me and tell me what doesn't make sense to you. Thanks for the criticism. I'll work on that. ^_~

Yeah! xD Inside jokes.

I really like this, your characters sound real, and as if your not even trying to work too hard in making them real. For a while I kept saying "This looks as something I might read in a book or something) Really! Is that good....and what's odd...i kept thinking of Mort Rainey...but that's because Secret Window is out I think and you said he was your kind of guy...and because you are both writers so...that makes no sense xD.

Anyways, keep up the good work I am really looking forward to this!

Mort? xD Really? Life imitates art. I tried not to base it on Rainey. More like someone else...OH WELL! xD! That's cool, though! Thanks Itzel. :D

Your writing never fails to impress me. ^_^ I love how very realistic and gritty this is, yet there's a lighter side to it, and even just a touch of paranormalcy to it. The emotions conveyed are very real and easy to empathise with, and the relationship between characters is plausible. I love the tension between Noah and his wife. There is nothing I can find to criticize so far. Keep up the good work!

Oh, really? Thanks, Havana. Your review was very lovely. ^_^ I'm glad you liked it. I enjoyed the tension myself. It was difficult to write, because I wanted it to sound as real as possible.

Gracious. :D
