If the arrows sewn over the darts on the deer costumes were applique patches instead of straight-on embroidery, it would be much easier to put them in. (figures I go straight for the construction difficulties).
It does all look really nifty, and you Explained Your Research. : )
Also, you should ask Kristen to send you pictures from when we tried on bridesmaid dresses this weekend, so you can see the top picks.
wow... these are really impressive. The fashion designs are much more art/runway than everyday wear, but the complete ensembles are really exquisit. I really love the skirt idea in the first design (crow) and the coat of fox... those are things i would actually wear. Beyond that, i love the combination of (to my novice eyes) victoriana meets wildlife-- two things that tried their best not to meet in real life. i'm not a huge fan of the feather-like material on the deer pants, mostly because it comes off looking like a tail, which is a step farther into the wilderness than i think is wise. i love the boots, and i like that you played with hair and make up. I can't comment on the attache-bow, because i don't think i'm visualizing it at all well. (i've got a mental image of a purse stuck to a bow, and i don't think that's what you're going for... ) i can't wait to see more of it!
The feathery material is part of the belt on the deer, and is supposed to tie her in with the crow, to make it look a little more wild and a little less polished. But I can see what you're saying for sure.
These are so great! I mean, it figures that I would love fashion things that are inspired by animals, but wow. I would definitely wear some of it, and even if some of it is more runway-y it's not completely ludicrous and over-the-top the way I usually see that stuff, it's beautiful! I don't really know anything about fashion, so I guess I sound pretty stupid right now, but whatever. I would love to see more when you have it done!
These are absolutely beautiful. I love looking at your drawings, especially the fashion drawings. I really loved the fox outfit and the hawk outfit. These outfits are all so unique and creative.

I really enjoy fashion sketches of Real Life Designers, and when they explain what they intended in a non-bullshitting way.
