- duplicate base, set to screen 100%
- duplicate base, set on top, set to overlay 100%
- new layer, set to burn, fill with #c8c8c8
- duplicate base, set on top and desaturate. take your eraser tool and erase only the part that you want to remain in color (in my case, that would be the balloons)
- duplicate this desaturated layer and set it to screen
- duplicate it again (the desaturated layer) and set to overlay
- duplicate the desaturated overlay layer and lower the opacity to 22%
- take this textue by peoplemachines and set it to darken around 68% on the very top
- merge
- adjust >>> automatic contrast enhancement >>> lighter, normal, bold
- put this texture by peoplemachines and set it to screen.
