My SO and I had a rough... oh, month or so, at least, getting back together. We were on edge and bickering and for me, I was just so scared and unsure that I could barely bring myself to trust him not to go and fuck me up again. We eventually got through it, and had a good... five months, I guess. So it does take time.
Having said that, give him two weeks to follow through with his compromises, and if he doesn't... honey, it's hard to call something quits when part of you just refuses, but do you really see this working out and lasting in the long run? I honestly did; that's why I stayed. You just have to be honest with yourself, and go with your heart.
Even though, yes, I did suggest that she follows her heart. I think it'll drive you crazy if you don't... but more often than not, following your heart is what effs you over in the end. I used to think that the "what if" would hurt more than the possible heartbreak, but I think I may have changed my mind.
