I am so glad I work second shift because waking up at effectively 4am would be quite unpleasant.

Yesss! I was so happy! "Crap, we're getting DST? Oh, wait. I'M MOVING TO AZ! No DST for me! Still! BWAH HA HA HA HA!"
As to what happens to the hour, it depends on how I'm feeling that particular day. Sometimes I eat it. Tasty time! Sometimes I just push it under my bed and forget about it for a while. Sometimes it gets lost in the Evil Chair...and good luck getting it out of that.
