Corn beef and cabbage really are lucky

Today (yesterday, but I haven't slept yet) I cooked up some corned beef and cabbage. It was quite yummy. Once it was done cooking I grabbed myself a plate, started munching and headed back to my desk. Waiting for me was an email offering me a job

So, this means you'll be working closely with a certain "Weird Scientist"?

Alas, I did not get that position. He was nice about it but honestly, I really wasn't quite qualified for the job. I might have slipped in if the job market weren't so saturated with people more qualified than me.

The job I got was actually something I interviewed for later that same week and it's similar to what I was doing for crazy-boss only across the river and with nicer people. I think the offer for cookies might have been what got me the job. Either that or past experience and actual qualifications.
