The second the spell hit him, Sirius knew he was going to die. He wasn't sure how he knew, he just did.
In the time it took him to fall, he thought about more than he thought about all week.
He thought about Harry and how he was going to live. He thought about how he was going to miss Harry growing up, miss Harry graduating, miss Harry falling in love and getting married. He thought about Remus and how he was going to live. He thought about how he wasn't going to be there for Remus during his transformations. He thought about James and Lily, and how he felt like he failed them.
He thought about Wormtail, and how he escaped.
He thought about Regulus and whether or not he was going to see him in the afterlife. He thought about how much he hated Bellatrix and how much it sicked that she was his death.
He thought about how he wasn't going to see the end of the war.
Just before he fell in, he made eye contact with Remus, whose expression of horror made his heart break. He thought about how Remus was the only one left.
