I want to tie up the lose ends of my last entry. I'm not saying that watching TV is evil or bad. I'm just saying that TV shows and Movies have been such a huge part of my life and a huge part of modern lifestlye. It just seems wierd to me how we spend so much time in fictional stories. it was a vicious cycle that started when we were kids. i blame family matters, step by step, the cosby show, hanging with mr.cooper and boy meets world. we never learned how to pass the time without tv, video games, internet or movies and to a lesser extent music. we dont have to attention spans or focus to go outside, just sit down and talk or read a book dammit.

i can deviate every once in a while but most of the time it ends and beings with tv or sometimes in my case talk radio. its not your fault, like a form of abuse, tv as an entertainment outlet is wired into you.
its all just a downward spiral but i dont mind that much, sometimes i do but then seinfeld comes on.

remember to wiki Dallas (tv series)

oh and in a sense, im right there with you as far as not being a simpsons fan anymore, expcept i gave up on the simpsons like 3 or 4 years ago, for different reasons. but im still not going to forget the first 8...fine...12 seasons and how great they were. you shouldnt either.

Don't worry I'm not going to forget the old simpsons. Even if I try not to, I'll still end up quoting the Simpsons whenever the opportunity comes up. The problem is the same with all tv shows, what may be considered bad in a show in the 80's is perfectly ok in the 90's and so on. Then I start questioning the concept of TV and media all together.

TV could be compared to the fats, sugars and oils part of the food pyramid. I just need to lose a lot of weight. Metaphorically of course.

Video Games I like. I know that old people are recommended video games over television & movies because they're atleast exercising their brain and being challenged. With tv and movies they sit there and let it happen.
