The plan, at least, is to cover most of that spending by making cuts from other programs and finding other ways to save money. That's not really a realistic expectation, but it's a start.
Having the debt go up would be a bad thing, if that's what comes to pass, but I think that the benefits of the programs Obama is proposing would outweigh the cost.
That said, I'm thrilled to see a post about politics on here or Facebook that actually involves research, for once, instead of knee-jerk reactions or basing it entirely off of religion or some other ideology.

There's no guarantee there, yet. If the polls are right, then that should be the outcome, but there's no guarantee that the Bradley Effect won't rear its head. On the other hand, I've suspected the polls aren't skewing young enough this year, and that could have a big effect on how accurate they actually are.

As for you Paul, I'm always thrilled to get an aerospace engineer's opinions. There's a lot of pros and cons on both sides and its important to know what they are.
