Universal Truths

Ya know, I've been talking to friends, thinking and such, etc. the last few days, and I've come to conclude these ARE, in fact, the universal truths, at least I believe.

1. No good deed goes unpunished.
2. You always hurt the ones you love.

Think about it.

I think about #2 a lot and I think the reason for that truth is because when you love someone or vice versa everything becomes more sensitive with that person. Sensitive subject matter often leads to pain.

I was talking to a friend of mine who in a kind of sticky situation, and she said her ex bf loves her and wants her back. Even if she didn't feel the same, it made her mad, and anger just masks pain. Since she does feel the same, however, it hurts that little part of her that does still love him. I told her "Either way you go, one of you three is going to get hurt; it's inevitable" (the third person being her current bf).

That's only the most revent example; I've seen it happen with other friends too
