Oh boy.

Ok, I can understand a bunch of people being upset over the hide museum closing. Being that I was never a huge hide fan, I have no place saying whether it should or should not stay open. In fact, it is my place to state clearly that I am completely indifferent.

That said, being that I have a lot of experience when it comes to lobbying thanks to my ( Read more... )

I don't usually get upset when things close down. I mean, that means they weren't getting enough money. If you want something to survive, support it.
Nuff' said.

If you'd told me you were looking for it earlier, I could have sent some money with my friend Caitlin. She's actually seeing that tour in Charlotte this afternoon. xD;

...I hate hide fans..and just to piss the little fuckers off HideHideHideHide
They should be happy, now they can buy all his PORN off the offical web site! Commerciallism is everything...especially in Japan. Insted of a petition, they should raise enough funds to pay the rent and upkeep for 5 years, that'll get them to keep it!!!MONEY =o...and old Japanese busness men HATE foregners...I got smacked by one on a train cuz my bass was within 2 feet of his breathing area...~bitter~
I hope all these flaming retards are inside when it's demolished...BLOWN UP!!!! I rather dislike hide's crappy image his fans give him...his music was meh anyways...
They should make it a museum to the POPE!!! XD

I hope you smacked that rat bastard right back! x_x

I was never a big fan of his music, or image. Pink Spider was a nice song, but other than that, I never got the big deal. I think everyone quoted above but the "What trash that you are!" would make excellent candidates to be stuck inside if it blew up. Hey, then they could literally -Go with God- per the old saying *is too bad*.

I like...Dice...I think it's sad when, in America, a Japanese song is over played...Pink Spider got over played...=(
Imagine if there was a Kert Cobain museum...same life style, death...hair...

I agree...it's kind of pointless if the petiton is as you said it was XD I've been to the museum myself, and it feels really weird, like you're in someone's house, looking through their clothes and posessions and car and guitar while they're out shopping. If it were only stage clothes and guitars and song books, I wouldn't mind but, I mean, it's even got non tour/music related things like his wallet, house keys, alarm clock, xmas present from his dad still in the box, stuff like that, that makes it feel like you're chillin in some dead person's house XD

I think most crowds of people just go on the anniversary of his death anyway and not during the week. It never occured to me to go to the museum until I decided I wanted to head down to the American military base then realised, "he~y, hide museum is there too". The cafe I think had more people than the museum had walking through.

That's what I've heard. To me, and maybe it's just me, it sounds a bit like exploitation. Of course, that's a perfectly accepted form of modern capitalism- so long as it's not called specifically by that name.

It's out in the middle of nowhere, too, isn't it? I mean, it's not surprising they can't pay for it.

Yeah it's *out* there, maybe 1.5-2hours from Tokyo. For me it was like 30$ round trip plus 15 for admission XD Not to mention the walk to the place where if you're not careful you'll end up trespassing on the naval base! But the point was, it's expensive just getting there and it takes time, too, especially when you're a student.

Damn, thats kind of a shame. I got to go when I was out there, so I'm not *so* bothered, but I know a few people who'd planned to go when they were able to get out there.

To be honest, I can see why they're closing it. There was almost nobody there when we went. One young couple and another slightly older woman. And like...two other girls in the cafe. When your staff outnumber your patrons, you know theres a problem.

I say close the museum and turn it into a proper live house or something. It isn't *that* out of the way (the train fare for me to get there from Tokyo was like....£10 is that...) so at least then they aren't demolishing that gorgeous, gorgeous building. Because it is gorgeous.

A live house would be a great commemorative for any musician. :/ If some of these people would think a little more in Japanese, I'm sure they could come to some kind of compromise. Money is always the bottom line, and a live house would make much more money.

That would be a good idea. I second that. Those ignorant whiners can keep the museum up, just modify it into something different. Hell, they can keep a small wing of hide museum (like his tour stuff, not personal things) open so when they see a live they have more to do during intermission or whatever.
