My mom isn't dead, but we're so not close that she might as well be. I can't relate to you 100%, but I know how it feels to not have a mother in your life and to be glad that she didn't raise you and someone else did. Its good that your grandparents took you under their wing when you were younger..mine did too.
I wish I was in Pasadena, I'd say we should get coffee or something. if yuo're in the SB area, you should stop by!

Marylin,
Never rationalize in such a way that will contradict your immediate, instinctual feelings. Understand why you feel a certain way, but don't fight what is natural.
I can't dictate how proud I am of you for coming so far virtually on your own. But don't say that you don't miss your mother, because I know that those tears were sincere. But seriously, I read that paragraph admiring how grown-up you've become.
I'm kind of in a weird mood right now, so I hope you don't take this comment too seriously or as me being a stern lecturer. I hope I'm not being too critical. It's all only opinion, anyway.

well, i mean, i dont think i miss HER so much as i miss having a mother. i mean, my grandparents were never very parent-y. in anycase, the reason for all the rationalizing: i am staying at the house of a person that i used to be in love with and was kind of messing around with while i was on a break with daniel last year. When i came back to stay at his house this week, immeadiately i started to feel/see why i was so in love with him previously, but the difference is, i know why he is not the right person for me and why daniel IS. i am able to look past all the things that i love about him but can still know that he is NOT the one for me, despite all the squishy feelings.
