the first poem I've ever written about you.

Feb 10, 2005 15:34

I'm thinking about putting this on the heart-o-gram (singing valentine's day "cards" at my school) to my boy-crush, whom I plan on asking out tomorrow. Wish me luck? And tell me what you think.

you turned away and i felt
like neon lace,
vivid and vulnerable,
draped over a
slow-pulsing strobe light.

it only took a smile; i
noticed the contours of
my hips,
the way my jeans
fit. how much
eyeshadow
made me look mysterious.

i'm not sure what you want.
but i'm trying to stop the
butterflies
from fluttering in
my eyelids,
afraid of scaring you
away.
afraid of being too assertive.

my flaws are yours to
explore;
the sketches across
my stained skin yours
to trace.
create new lines on me.
make me yours.
