There seems to be a bit of a lull on these journals. Most likely because everyone has horrible organisation of time. They seem to think that just because you hurriedly finish an essay at 11:59pm means you can spend the next afternoon sleeping, only to try and finish another assignment at exactly the same time. I mean, honestly. We've been at school ( Read more... )

NO. You are NOT going with that idiot Michael Graves. You just CAN'T, Hermione.

It seems rather stupid to go by myself, Romilda. What's the use of going if you're alone the whole time? I either don't go, or I go with someone. Anyone. He might be nicer than I thought. You never know.

I don't want to go with him, but I'm sick of being completely alone. Harry's never around and... well, you know.

Going with yourself isn't so fun but believe me, it's better than going with him. And anyway, maybe we can get someone else for you to go with? Someone you actually want to go with?

Romilda, whoever you've set me up with, forget it. I've seen too many of your little blind dates turning into disasters.

Trust me Hermione, I really am trying my best to keep organized, but maybe I'm just too stupid to go to school.

Michael Graves? He's pretty nice, I guess...

...

I would prefer it if you go with Ron, though.

Hannah, self-pity won't work with me. We both know very well how intelligent you are.

He's not the sweetest boy around but when you think about it, he's not as bad as you'd originally think.

Don't you think I would too?

Yes, we know you would too. That's exactly why you cannot go with Graves.

Trust me, Hermione, settling is a bad idea. If you don't like to be around the bloke, don't go to the ball with him. You won't have fun and it'll only encourage him to pop up unexpectedly even more.

If you really don't want to go alone, Charlie will be in town for Christmas. Or maybe Krum'll be willing to make the trip over. And even if you don't want to go with Krum, drop a hint or two around a certain someone anyways. It'll be sure to get his knickers in a twist.

So I should just go to the Ball alone. That seems to be everyone's solution. Go and show everyone just how miserable and pathetic I really am.

I don't want to make your brother go with me. And Viktor's playing in the semi-finals. I already asked him. I'm a little surprised you didn't know that, to be honest.

No one will think you're pathetic. You aren't pathetic. And you shouldn't think of yourself as such.

I guess if you want to go with Graves...then go with him. Just make sure he knows you're only going as friends. Trust me. I was once in the same position as he is. (Nasty little incident in fifth year. Remind me to tell you about it when you're feeling down, it should cheer you right up.)

You just better make sure you save me and Fred a dance each, yeah?

Honest, Hermione. Any time you need us, Fred and I are there. We've known you so long, you're like another little sister. So really. Just yell.

That's very sweet of you. But it's ok, I'm not going to the Ball anymore. I decided that it's not worth all this fuss. I'm sick of all this drama. It just seems so juvenile. I was thinking of asking Madam Pince to allow me to use the library during the Ball.

Michael wasn't too happy. Not happy at all, judging from the profanity he screamed at me. Makes me rather happy I'm not going now.

For the love of God, Merlin, Buddah, and all those other holy/important people, Granger, all I can say is what the hell.

That will be all.

I'm just going to say that you probably shouldn't go to the ball with someone who's going to bother you all night. But I do understand not wanting to go alone. And I also understand not wanting to ask a certain person someone yourself.

Thank you, Susan. No-one else seemed to understand that. It's sort of a sudden fear of being alone possibly brought on by my parents'--. But it's alright. I'll stay and guard the younger children or go to the library instead. Should be a magical evening.
