the other night elon and jessica pointed out to me that there was an enormous spider that had began its residency on my back porch. it's been there every night since then. i know this because i check on it. tonight, it stormed. while i sat in the comfort of my home, i wondered whether the spider was going to be ok when the rain was falling. so

there was a spider at the beach. it was gigantic and not listed as a spider species. It had been at my friend's beach house all summer. I named it fluffy. Well the day we were going to leave, it disappeared! we were all a little sad.

it was the itsy bitsy spider all over again.
