Who You Calling Loony, Loony?

Name: Sky
Age: 19

I. Describe yourself:

Hey y'all. I go by Sky, mostly because my username is near unpronouncable. Russian is quite lovely like that. I'm pretty fond of learning new languages, and my obsession at the time I created my lj was Russian, thus the name was born (means "cynical," by the way). Currently, I'm a computer engineer major at a state university. Grades aren't the greatest, mostly because I didn't bother much my first year. During the summer, I've been working as a tutor at a learning center. It's nice because it makes sure I don't forget how to write during the summer.

Motivation in my life fluncuates at best. When I care about something, I'll put much effort into it and do my best job at it, but otherwise I tend to be a little lazy. Generally, I'd much rather lay around and read or play games than be busy and active.

Physically, I'm pretty average. Brown eyes that are a little big, wavy brown hair that goes down to about mid-back and never seems to be fully brushed. A little short, never quite hit 5'4". Always have my mp3 player with me; I'm a bit of a music fanatic (90s era esp). I don't bother much with what I wear, mostly because I don't really care, so I'm usually in jeans, a t-shirt, and some comfy, worn down sneakers. I love socks, so I basically never wear sandals or go around barefoot.

Favorite color's green, especially the darker shades. Favorite animal is the giraffe, and I'm still not quite sure why I like it so much because it's such an awkward animal, but I do anyway. My astrological sign is Aries, and it shows by how I'm a bit controlling and I'm not fond of following what others do.

II. What are some of your pet peeves?

Intolerance. Especially people who mock those who speak accented English, because for them to be able to even learn a language as crazy as English is difficult enough, so just because it isn't perfect doesn't mean you should be a jerk about it. Plus, and this is pretty stingy of me, I really cannot stand people who eat with their mouths open or make lots of obnoxious noise when doing so. There's something that's just really disturbing and annoying about that.

Internet slang is really annoying, too. It had always bothered me, but when I realized I was starting to think in terms of "lol," I knew there was something wrong and now I all but refuse to use anything even remotely like it. This doesn't include cute pictures made with random letters and punctuation. Dot smileys are awesome.

III. What is your take on religion?

I think it's important to have religion, because believing in something is a very strong motivator. It's nice to think that things don't just end after you die. I don't push my religious beliefs onto other people, because I find that spirituality is a very personal thing. In the end, only you can really decide what you want to believe, and what you don't want to believe, and nobody can really convince you otherwise. Politics, however, are another thing entirely. ;)

IV. If you were a character in the Harry Potter series, which of the following would you be? (Pure-Blood, Half-Blood, Muggle Born, Squib, or Muggle)

Probably muggle born, mostly because none of the others fit too well with my family values. I can't see myself being a pure blood, mostly because while family is really important to me, I don't think I could handle the crazy, million year old traditions that come from an old, pure family. I'd definitely be from a simple family, not too close with distant relatives, but still very close-knit to my immediate family members. Even with half-bloods, distant relatives tend to play an important part on their lives, so this would probably be a no-go, too. As far as squib and muggle go, I'd rather not be either mostly because I think I'd enjoy magic too much to not be any good with it.

V. Which house do you not fit in at all?

Hufflepuff, probably. I'm not much of a hard worker, and I am known to work at things half-heartedly even when they're important (as shown by my current GPA...). Also, my friendliness tends to only really show up around new people I haven't really gotten to know yet. I'm far too sarcastic to be particularly friendly with those I know well. Plus, hanging around friendly, hardworking kids all the time would probably just irritate me to know end. I'd probably end up bunking in some random nook around the school just to get away.

VI. How do you feel about inter-house relations?

Oddly enough, I tend to be more attracted to people completely different than myself, so inter-house relations would probably be pretty important to me. I always find it fun to meet new people, so while the kids in my own house will probably be the ones I spend the most time with simply because of the proximity, I'd definitely have a few friends in different houses.

VII. If you recieved a Howler from your parents, what would it be for?

Definitely accidentally catching something on fire. I'm a bit fond of fire and candles and the like, and I think if I had the magic to just conjure up fire, I would totally abuse that power. In general, I tend to do stupid things just for the hell of it, especially when I'm bored and should probably be doing something else.

VIII. What would you die for?

This is quite a tough question. The only thing I can honestly ever see myself dying for are people, and those people are my family. But, when it comes down to it, I'm not sure I could take the plunge and die for someone so important to me, even my family. I guess I'm a bit of a coward like that.

IX. If you found your best friend's diary would you read it? Your worst enemy's?

I doubt I would ever read my best friend's diary, because whoever's my best friend would tell me whatever they felt comfortable with me knowing. If something's written in their diary, and I don't know about it, there's probably a very good reason. As far as my worst enemy goes, it's pretty doubtful, unless I was feeling particularly vindictive that day. Even then, I'd just feel too uncomfortable reading something that private and personal.

X. What is your life's dream?

I'd like to make some sort of impact in the world, and then be able to retire peacefully away from society and just enjoy my old age. Not really sure what it is I want to do that'll be so life-changing, but it'd be pretty cool to be remembered for something. I'd like to eventually have kids, because I'm fond of children, but I can't really see myself married for some reason.

XI. What makes you unique? Explain.

I'm a little bizarre. I tend to ramble quite a bit, to the point I start combining my words and create new ones that really don't make much sense at all. I'm quite talented at talking about nothing at all for extended periods of time. I'm also horribly forgetful, so I frequently talk in circles about the same things. I don't have any problem being alone, however. I enjoy taking time away from everything and just relaxing.

XII. What sets you apart from the crowd?

I rarely completely agree with what others think. It's not so much that I'm rebelling, it's just I have this tendency to just oppose whatever is the common view (well that makes sense...). Basically, it's when everyone's being all depressed and angsty that I am at my most hyper and bounciest, and when everyone's being happy and cheerful I tend to get sulky and irritated.

XIII. Which of the Seven Deadly Sins (envy, pride, gluttony, wrath, sloth, greed, lust) do you feel you possess the most?

Definitely sloth. I can be pretty lazy when I'm not properly motivated. I can be lazy even when the motivation is present. Occassionally, wrath can be a bit of a problem for me, especially when I've been wronged. I don't usually act on it (I typically can get over anything in ten to thirty minutes), but the anger is definitely there for a period of time. Most of the others don't play very big factors in my life, except for envy/greed when I'm waltzing around an electonics store penniless.
