THERE HAVE BEEN MANY NIGHTS
that i flinched
and raised my arms up and around
convinced of spiders crawling. On
those nights and more
it has been only your hair as you sleep
by my side and i am relieved.
and happy that no arachnids
dwell in your curls or under my skin.
I am sane and you are sleeping.
