And he was right.
He had exited using the side entrance per his usual custom, but there she was, standing in front the building he both lived and worked in.
It was two minutes of debating in the rain over what the appropriate comment would be before he realized that he had been staring motionless. He risked a small wry smile and shoved one hand in his pocket, slowly approaching.

She followed him with her eyes, unsure of whether or not she should just leave or stay to see what would happen.

"Unless it's just coincidence that you found yourself here of all places..." he said, trailing off and watching, hoping that her expression would change to something more welcoming.
The off-guard feeling was hard to battle, and he felt it quickly surging up in him for the second time.

"I can't say that I usually stand out in the pouring rain looking up at buildings because I think the bricks are especially red," she replied.
Trinity tucked her hands into her pockets and tilted her head slightly to the side. "And you're out late. Don't you know that it's dangerous out here?"

"I didn't ask you to take it! I thought you were-" he stumbled, licking his lips impatiently, wanting it to be easier to talk again, "I thought we could- that maybe we-"
His eyes met hers in a desperate locked gaze, his voice quiet again. "I didn't ask you for this."

"I'll leave you to think about this all. Just remember that I can't change it and to stay out of the sunlight. You'll be able to find me when you're ready," she told Gabriel as she started to leave.

"Trinity-" he said suddenly, hoping to interrupt her before she took another step. "Can't you..." stay?
Was it possible to hate someone and need them at the same time? Loathe them and still want them near?
He left the request unfinished, dropping his eyes away from her, unwilling to watch if she exited.

"Remember, come find me when you're ready. You won't last very long without some guidance." Not willing to let her gaze linger any longer, Trin started for the door again.
"Goodbye for now, Gabriel."
