Trinity watched as people rushed passed, seemingly in a rush, despite the fact that it was late in the night. The city never slept, though that was true in several different ways. Trinity stepped into the dimly lit room as Magnus slopped a mop lazily back and forth across the dirty tiles.

"Killed another one with your crazy experiments, have you?" she asked unenthusiatically. "Are you ever going to give up on these crazy schemes of yours?"

She crossed her arms lightly and looked across the makeshift laboratory that she had known for years. Magnus killed many vampires with his crazy ideas and experiments and it was Trinity's job to bring him vampires to test on.

"Give up? No no, Trinity. I'd be insane to give up now that I'm so close." Close. He had been saying that for the past century and the words fit his daily speech now.

"See? He didn't explode this time. He just...melted. That's got to be a step forward." He picked up his capriblood, double checked to make sure it wasn't the dead blood he had given the pile of slime on the floor, and sipped on it contently.

"What have you got for me tonight? Anything or anyone interesting?"

"I haven't got anyone for you tonight," Trin told him calmly. "I brought you five vampires yesterday and I didn't expect you to kill them all."

She watched him sip at the pouch of blood, her own appetite diminshing with each passing second.

"You do realize that this can be quite taxing on me, right? You know how strenuous it can be to turn humans. Especially more than one a night."
