The night air felt bitter around her as humans rushed past, the sounds of voices and low laughter hurrying past with them. Seeing as how Alexis lived in the rundown outskirts where none of the city's more upstanding citizens would be found, it just so happened that her apartment building was right across the street from this raucous party. Her leather gloved hands held a pillow over her ears as she flipped onto her side to face away from her window in an attempt to fall back to sleep. It was to no avail though. A few moments later her eyes popped back open and she groaned. She tossed the pillow away and then slid out of bed. Alexis had a bit of a temper problem, especially when she was kept awake by this...stuff they called music ( ... )

Dajan watched the social conflagration blaze from a safe distance, resting in a cozy little nest of shadows beneath a tattered awning, his tall, lean frame propped against the wall with a deceptive degree of nonchalance.
