so explain to me why i should be using twitter, especially since i have a livejournal in which i can expound on my thoughts and not just write a little sentence.

Twitter is like...a website of just facebook status updates. You just post whatever. Like little thoughts. When I use livejournal I usually a updating about one thing that I kind of expand on, but this is good for little things. For example "My car smells like cigarettes. Sebastian FUCKING Gordon I am going to kill you." Is one of my recent twitters. And you have other people that you follow and so you can see their "tweets" too. Also you can respond to other peoples and like, tweet back and forth. I have mine set up so with particular people, their twitters send to my phone, too, and you can answer or update from your phone too. It's also good when you have something you want to remember later, you can just send it to yourself. Bonnie sends funny shit people have said on it or things that have happened so she remembers it later. It's like...a myspace bulletin. Pointless, but people read it anyway, because our generation is so all about everyone knowing everything all the time. hahaha. They're really fun and addictive, though, once
