Chapter 8

"Hey Bam"

"Hi Ville. How are you?"

"Tell him to fuck off and get your sorry ass back here now!"

"Shut the fuck up! You're talking shit!" The sound glass smashing blasted down the phone line.

"Bam.Go."

"I'll ring back."

*****

"Sorry about that."

"What the hell was going on Bam?"

"Just another row, she's been going mad for days now"

"Why?"

"I got caught"

"Oh God, Bam you idiot."

"Thanks mate, I just nearly had my eyeballs ripped out of my head and now I've got you calling me an idiot"

Considering Bam's situation was rather serious, it would have been rude to laugh at his exasperated expression, but Ville just couldn't help it.

"Where are you hiding now then?"

"Spare room closet"

"I didn't mean literally!" Ville's laugh forever contagious soon had the skater chuckling at the situation too.

"Shh! I'm gonna give myself away" Bam whispered.

"Okay okay. So tell me who was it this time?" Ville questioned, intrigued.

"Missy"

"Missy? Again?"

"Yeah"

"Are you getting serious with her?"

"I'm not sure. All I know is this shit with Jenn is getting too much to handle. I don't love her anymore and I'm pretty sure she's on the drugs again."

"Bam, just sort it with her, she's not that bad. If you're going to cheat do it carefully." Ville felt he could say this effortlessly because he knew what his lover was like and that it was partially his fault now he had the taste of the danger for cheating.

"Now I'm going to actually get some sleep, call me tomorrow."

"Sorry, I forgot the time difference again."

"At least it's a different problem of yours this time"

"Ville, phone sex was the best answer you could have given to the problem that night. Admit it. "

"I'm not even going to mention it, I don't want to be heard-- Night Bam"

"Bye Ville."

Ville hung up and silently cursed himself as he stood beside his bed undressing, before getting beneath the crisp covers and wishing the warmth of a body next to him was someone else, but knew she would always come second best.

*****

Sitting in his lounge, sipping on a freshly made cup of coffee, Ville was content.

That was until his pocket vibrated violently and the caller ID of his phone read Bam. Aware of the time it was America,

Ville answered the phone worried:

"Bam, what's up?"

"I sorted it, like you said"

"That's good-"

"I ended it." Bam said bluntly.

"What? Why?"

"I told you, I had enough. Ville, I don't give a shit about her."

"Then why are you still awake at 3:30 in the morning?"

"Stressed. Lonely. Missing you." Bam's voice suddenly thick with emotion. "I love you"

"I love you too, Bam"

"Then why can't the world let us be?"

"You know why Bam. Don't start this please."

"I'm sorry Ville" Bam's breathing hitched and his voice wobbled.

"Oh kulta, please don't cry. It's going to be okay, you're not going to lose me."

"I know. It's just hard you know? I've been trying to sleep for hours and I just keep thinking about the life I want so bad, instead of the one I've just fucked up."

"Bam, calm down honey. It's not going to help."

"Ville, will you sing to me?"

"Are you sure?  I don't sing the most upbeat songs."

"Yeah. I love your songs so I don't care."

"Love is a flame that can't be tamed and though we are its willing prey, my darling, we are not the ones to blame..."

"Thank you."

"You're still a n'idiot"

"A n'idiot?"

"Yeah Bam. Sweet dreams darling."

*****

"Good Morning, honey. How are you feeling?"

"The same really. How are you?

"Fine, just worrying about you."

"Don't worry. I'll get over it. It was my fault anyway."

"How about a holiday..."

"I-"

"... with me"

"Ville, you can't just go dropping everything because I've been an ass."

"Well I've got some papers to sign in L.A, so it was just an idea."

"You sure?"

"Of course I am, you n'idiot?"

Bam chuckled gently. "What is it with that word?"

"You remember fucking nothing, Margera."

"What?"

"Well I guess I will just have to remind you."

Both lovers smirked at this suggestion, even though Bam was insanely confused at something he had missed on one of their many drunken nights.

*****

The Finn stood outside the glass entrance with a cigarette carefully placed between his lips, humming to his own melody, excitement and nerves coursing through his veins. Silently chanting his lover's name, urging him to arrive. Typical of him to be late, he kept telling himself.

Eventually, for what felt like a lifetime for Ville, a car pulled up and one reasonably happy Bam Margera stepped out onto the sidewalk.

"Finally!" Ville exclaimed, stubbing his fourth cigarette out quickly.

Bam, wordless for once stepped forward and tightly embraced his lover. Silently they drew apart and made their way up to their suite. Bam, curious to why Ville had gone and booked something bigger unnecessarily.

Once onto the corridor nearing their suite they joint hands, thankful for any sort of connection after weeks apart. Bam was slightly taken aback, but certainly not dismissively, when Ville leant over to kiss his gently, eventually slowing their pace to a stand as their hunger for each other's warmth and passion took over. Ville had Bam pinned to the wall, attempting not to grind into his groin whilst still in the public eye. Bam pushed the rocker away slightly and took his hand again and with a "Come on" started to lead him closer to his desired destination. Ville seemed hesitant but continued to follow and opened the door.  Hastily Bam closed it behind him and grabbed Ville by the excess of his shirt and slammed him against the door, once again plunging into his mouth, tongues tangling. Teasingly Ville pushed him away, giggling. He whispered:

"No, Bam, stop, stop, ahhh, Bam, stop"

Bam's grinding becoming too much of a temptation he momentarily gave up his defences. Until he listened.

He pushed Bam completely off him and straightened out his shirt, walking away from the door. Bam followed, knowing his lover was playing games again. Forever a tease. He took Ville's lips once more before letting his paramour lead the way to whichever room he desired.

It was when he stepped back he heard somebody moving, paranoid yet he was sure.

"Bam"

"Ville, I heard-"

"Bam, meet Jonna." Ville said quickly before Bam could say anymore.

"Nice to meet you after Ville talking so much about you" Jonna held out her hand and smiled brightly.

"You too. Ville nearly forgot to tell me you where here. What a fool hey?"

Bam learnt forward and knocked her hand away, embracing her instead. She was Ville's lady, she deserved respect.

The men shared uneasy glances, both filled with sorrow. Jonna's expression so innocent.

Bam strode the short distance back to the doorway to retrieve his large travel bag.

"Well excuse me for a bit, I'd rather get this unpacking sorted out first."

"Sure" The Finns agreed, as the skater walked away. Closing the door behind him he sulked onto the bed. He didn't even realise him and Jonna were serious. Why didn't Ville tell him?

Bam sighed, it was another blow to his head but he had to carry on as always, it was inevitable Ville would find someone to have a normal life with, as he would one day, but that felt like another lifetime away. His eyes watered at his situation. He felt hopeless and rejected, yet he knew he had to be brave. Just like another skating bruise, it would fade. How did he deal with them?

He got up, acted like it didn't happen and laughed it off, dealing with the consequences in private. This would be the same; it had to be the same.
