Draco adjusted his messenger bag as he entered the Great Hall. One thing he'd regrettably forgotten was what house Riah resided in, which was always a problem whenever Draco had the urge to.. broaden his horizons.
I can't understand why you insisted on working here. He complained as he approached, standing across the table from him and crossing his arms. Just because you're a tolerable Hufflepuff doesn't mean everyone else here is. He noticed from his peripheral vision that the girls about them were giving him the stinkeye. So naturally he raised his voice.
And why you would want to sit at the same table as drooling, underdeveloped fangirls who have no chance with you whatsoever is far beyond me.
Zacharias glanced over at three girls who, the moment his head turned their way, hid behind their copies of Witch Weekly.
"I dunno, they've been awfully distracting," the boy complained, but where else was he going to sit? He rarely conversed with other houses, guys tended not to favor him, and every time he sat with a girl he didn't know very well, they seemed to assume it was some proposal for marriage. To be quite honest, he didn't have many friends. Not that he minded.
Zacharias stared at Draco while it sunk in. He seemed to shake himself from whatever it was that kept him sitting and gathered his things. After sliding all of his books into his bag, he followed Draco to his table, collecting stares from just about everyone they passed.
