Title: What's Underneath (Part 1 of at least 2 or 3)
Pairing: Barney/Robin

OOOH!!

This is totally fascinating. I like the way you explored Robin's character and how visceral you made her reactions.

thank you! I just pounded this out last night after watching the most recent episode. It might reflect some of my underlying anger in it, but I thought the edge could fit her after her comment last night. And maybe I could begin to explain some of her cartoonish absurdity this season as well.

I wrote some a similar Barney one as well and will hopefully be able to come up with what he's thinking and feeling underneath the facade as well.

so glad you liked it!

This totally happened after Robin's controlled little, 'Okay' right before the scene ended.

Love the Robin POV and I'm excited to see where it goes :D

This is very impressive. You give Robin some decent, deep-seated, powerful emotions, while leaving her stuck behind the armour that Season 5 has so callously made for her.

And yet, in your story we SEE that depth, and we therefore sympathise with her, because of course Barney's ridiculous (and as cartoon as you had Robin thinks she is) but she still wants him.

This is heartbreaking stuff. I'm intrigued to read part 2.

this season has been so frustrating for me to watch, but i loved this! it's made me hope that maybe they're hiding feelings for a blowup closer to the finale, though i probably shouldn't hold my breath with everything else they have done.

anyways, i can't wait until you post more. :)

Why did the show insist on ruining these two? They were perfect together. They ARE perfect together. You dove into Robin's thoughts perfectly and this just depressed me because she wasn't one of the many but then again, she didn't seem to matter much either way and that breaks my heart. Thank you so much for this.
