I'm quite happy with the election results. Despite voting Tory as a protest vote, I'm pleased they didn't get in nationally - their stance on the human rights act and the refugee convention is just too scary for me ( Read more... )

I feel much the same. I'd hoped Labour would get back in, but with a reduced majority, and I think I'm right in saying it's about halved.

The constituency where I actually voted (Putney) swung from Labour to Tories this time round, but it was pretty narrow, and the Tory woman looks like one tough cookie so I suspect that no-one really dared stand against her... ;)

Yeah - that was early enough to cause Peter Snow to go into a bit of a tizz-woz!

The Tory woman looked quite nice and sensible. But I admit I know nothing about her policies :P I wonder how much you can tell about a person's politics from how they look...? (with the obvious exception of the Monster Raving Looney Party...:P)

I was the campaign manager for the Monster Raving Loony candidate in our school elections (many moons ago). We got 26 votes!

lol! They banned the Monster Raving Loony from our school elections because they were worried that no-one else would stand a chance :P

Agree completely. Hopefully TB can't actually manage to be smug about this victory, with all its warning flags for his style of leadership...
