Things always have a habit of happening together, but I really think I've used up my quotient of "stuff" over the last two weeks.
I had a little accident in my car two weeks ago. It's the first one I've ever had and it was at least partially my fault which is why I haven't LJed it. It was minor and no-one was hurt, except that my little car's a bit battered. 'Nuff said ;) Oh, except that I'm getting to drive
al_fruitbat's car now we've finally got me insured on it. Rah!
I've had a cough for about 8 years :P Some of you may have noticed, but I suspect it's something that annoys me more than anyone else, although
al_fruitbat does get worried that I may be choaking some mornings! I finally got around to doing something about it this year and my lovely GP sent me for various tests to rule out the obvious things, finally admitting defeat and last week sending me to a specialist.
The specialist did an allergy test on me which, with hindsight, was rather obvious, but which I'd never really considered before might be causing the cough. Turns out I'm allergic to cats, grass pollen, dust and dust mites (I always said I was allergic to housework!). As a result I gave my bedroom a thorough cleaning this weekend. The rest of the house is next week :P It does make sense that dust might be the answer - I first noticed the cough in my first year of uni after moving out of Mum's nice clean house...!
The specialist also had to look down my nose with a camera to make sure my voicebox wasn't inflammed or anything. I really disliked this :( They had to use the special, potent anesthetic (after the normal one didn't work well enough) which is really rather unpleasant, and even then I still found it painful. Turns out my nose is "thin and a bit wonky"! But my voicebox is fine :P
I got a call from my bank yesterday to say there had been some unusual activity on my card. Someone's cloned it and spent over £1500 in two days at... Tescos! I almost laughed. This particular Thing doesn't worry me too much because my bank said I won't have to pay those transactions, but I'm really annoyed that the bastards managed to get my pin! I'm so careful with it :( Talking to people at work today it turns out the garage I use for petrol has had an instance of credit card fraud before...
And I've realised this morning that I left my fleece at Flamenco last night. I think I should just lock myself in the house for the next few days...!
