I mean like a public blog. Most of my old LJ entries are moody rants. I'm thinking maybe it would be nice to have something more positive that I wouldn't mind sharing with (all of) my family and real life friends. Also pretty much all of my friends here in Boston can't view my LJ since I make a lot of entries friends only and they don't have LJ accounts. I'd like to have a way that we can keep in touch as to my goings on without using facebook. I'm going to really miss them and I know they will miss me too. facebook is a horrible way to archive one's life. I wish there were a way to export facebook & twitter posts, flickr, and this LJ into one new blog. I actually made something that did just that in a web programming class (Java meets xml) a couple years back but I totally forgot how I did that and I have no desire to figure it out again.

i see your point really.
it would be a shame if you left. i love the photos of albert and see him grow :D
the archive is what i love about livejournal. see how your live and your entries have changed. i love looking back what i did at christmas at a specific year and what i did for mothersday in another year. :)

and i meant that lj is neglected by a lots of people. :) lots of people leave. it's all facebook/twitter now
it makes me sad.
(no offense of cource)

I think I would still check into LJ periodically but maybe just export posts to here - if I could figure out something that does that (that's not facebook). I like how well flickr and LJ work together, maybe there a blog program that does the same.

Do you like blogspot? I used it YEARS ago for this internet marking course and found it to be a relative pain and LJ was easier. But that was in 2005 or something and web programming has changed a lot since then so I'm sure their system is completely different.

I love your updates nikki!

My friends list has been stable for a while, the only changes coming when someone stops using LJ...so if you disappear I'll be one step closer to wondering if my own LJ time is up. I'm not inclined to start my own blog using one of the do-it-yourself blogging things...I'm not sure what I'll do if I run out of things to do in LJ.

I still monitor a couple of message boards, that will continue...but none of my LJ friends are there...

I check LJ way more often than message boards. I've pretty much abandoned those :(

I don't even look at twitter really - I just set up my flickr to post there when I upload public images to my photo stream via my phone.

Maybe I'll just keep making LJ posts from flickr too... since now it's so easy (they made a button for it) but they will likely be short updates and mostly an image :P
