The Triumphant Return of the Book Poll

Oct 02, 2010 19:13

I know I never ever post and I'm sorry about that. I miss you guys. I think tumblr has made me forget how to use LJ, I don't know. My life is boring and I have nothing to post about anyway. But I have found myself at a loss as to what to read next, so you know what that means! All links lead to goodreads pages. :)

Which book should I read next? )

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA PHANTOM OF THE OPERA PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.

That book drove me crazy when I read it in 6th grade. It's much different than the musical, and even more different than the movie. EVERYBODY should know the original story, because the characters are so much more real.

Also, the Persian sort of owns Mme Giry, even though I love her. It's been almost 10 years since I've read that book, but it is really amazing and I highly recommend it. I keep meaning to pick it up again. Guh.

I was so excited I forgot to expand upon why it "drove me crazy." If you don't know the original story, the Phantom really is a magician. You get a little taste of that in the movie, but even in the musical Erik (the Phantom) actually walks *through* the mirror. There are some serious mind**** scenes.

Oh, and Christine doesn't get written off quite so much like a desperate whore, because... well, let's just say Erik has some interesting powers. Ahem. And you find out why Box 5 is supposed to be left empty, which went rather unexplained in the movie. Humdoo. Yes. <3

Glad to see you post, regardless. It was nice scrolling down my flist and seeing _allshallfade again. This is where I got to know you.

It's a bit of a tricky balance, but I'm trying to get used to using LJ, Twitter and Tumblr together. They all have their strengths in different areas. I still have some work to do to revamp my LJ, and several post ideas waiting in the background for me to have the time and care to do them.

Oh, I voted for Girl with the Dragon Tattoo btw. I have that book on my shelf, waiting to be read, but I bought it because I heard amazing things.

Hey. It's Kelly (used to be rosiegalbasi...back in 2006 or something). I was thinking about you so I created a whole new LJ account just to say hi. Yup, my life is still boring. How's yours?

I miss talking to you. I was talking the other day about how we used to watch VH1 all night.

What have you been doing?
