Don't take it if you don't want it, simple as that.

You're way too young to think about taking a job just because you need the money. Everyone our age needs money, but that doesn't mean you should take a job just because of that fact. You have lots of time to find something you really love. Don't settle.

If anything, think of the kids. Do you really want to be one of "those" band directors who leaves after a few years, then they get another one, and another one...? It's not very fair to them if you take this job not 100% committed to it and thinking of leaving if something better comes along.

That's what I think! =)

I truly believe that a good teacher can teach anywhere.

Unfortunately, there will always be politics in education as well as every other career we could choose. You can make a difference and prove to those that doubt you that you can do it.

It's so odd. We spend so much time worrying about the people that don't care about and support us that we forget how many people we have that do care about us, support us, and want us to succeed.

I say go for it. If you love it, you'll stay. If you hate it, it was one year of your life and one year of learning.

This time of life is so uncertain. Sometimes it feels like you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. Have faith in yourself as an educator, as a person, and as a human. You worked hard for your degree so don't let others- who haven't even seen you teach yet- undermine your hard work.
