I went to deposit some money at the CIBC at Danforth and Broadview tonight, and as soon as I was inside, a homeless man with one eye approached me. He was keeping out of the cold. Scared the shit out of me... it was his pathetic moaning and him approaching me with open hands moreso than his disheveled appearance and single eye

VOlunteer at a homeless shelter, food bank, or other charity? Offer to let them shower at your place? Vow to yourself that if you ever run a business, you'll make it homeless-friendly? Spend your money at local shops that source their wares from local-sources?

A few weeks ago, there was a homeless man in the elevator hallway at the Saturday school where I used to teach. All the kids could talk about was how a hobo was in the school. They seemed amused. I hadn't even seen him until he was pointed out. I felt bad about that, but at least he was sleeping someplace warm that day; it was COLD out.
