My brother and I got into a little argument over if "Tearing Down The Borders" is about the Mexican/American border? I say it is. That's the only border we're really have any problem with right now anyway.
So any thoughts as to what they are referencing would be awesome.

Only a commitment to lock away equality and steal away all freedom from the poorest of the poor.
So that the boardroom can insure
their stockholders profits are higher in return
--The line is drawn
In the sand
On one side your a slave
The other a free man
We're tearing down the borders, oh oh!
There's a call
Freedom's sound
Around the globe
Its gaining ground!
We're tearing down the border
We're tearing down the border
We're tearing down the borders, WOAH!
My interpretation is-- it has nothing to do with our Mexican border at all. These choruses refer to war profiteering, rich multi-national companies only caring about their stock holdings and making higher profit whilst their employees remain poor and slave away for pay that is barely enough to feed their families. Im sure it could be construed in a different light but thats the gist of it.

but it can be interpretted differently to each to person. Tearing down borders in each individual life. But I don't know, just my thoughts.

But, by the name, it could be interpretted as tearing down the borders between all nations. Maybe to create some sort of governmentless Utopia?
