Best show you’ve ever been to&why: i saw the arcade fire back in september, in central park, nyc. i was in love with them ever since i heard funeral, and this concert made me love them even more...i couldn't listen to their recorded stuff for weeks, because it just didn't compare to when i heard them live. oh, and regine totally wins the award for best dancer...she was doing some spazzy robot thing through some of the songs. i'm going to see animal collective later this month, wolf parade in april, and the books in may, so this may change.
One CD that you can’t live without [no more, no less]: oh geez...i'd probably have to go with if you're feeing sinister by belle and sebastian. there's just something about that cd that makes me want to listen to it over and over. i'd never get sick of hearing it.
Do you play any instruments? If so, which one[s]? i sing (classically), i play piano, and i can play a mean Eb minor chord on guitar.
Are you in a band? If so, any link[s] to your music? does my school chorus count?

MOVIES:

Favorite movies: ehh, i'm not a big moviegoer...but unbreakable is definitely my favorite. some others include the classic wizard of oz, the constant gardener, and eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
Favorite actor or actress: umm...i don't have one?
The last movie you watched:the new world...loved it. everyone who i saw it with hated it...but i think it was brilliant.
Do you go to the movies often? not really.

LITERATURE:

Favorite books:perks of being a wallflower by stephen chbosky, memoirs of a geisha by arthur golden, the curious incident of the dog in the night time by mark haddon, a clockwork orange by anthony burgess, animal farm by george orwell, lucky and the lovely bones by alice sebold, american gods by neil gaiman, bee season by myla goldberg, the giver by lois lowry, the old man and the sea by ernest hemingway, the moviegoer by walker percy, song of solomon by toni morrison.
Favorite author: has to be toni morrison.
Favorite children’s book:a wrinkle in time and the other three books in the series. these books really sparked my imagination...it really opened my eyes to the rest of the world, and different dimensions and concepts of time.
Do you write yourself? If so, what kind of writing? not really...i'm a master at bsing school essays, but i usually don't really sit down to just write.

BECAUSE WE EFFING CAN:

Hobbies: listening to music (duh), bowling, coffee shopping, crocheting, driving, cleaning / organizing, playing piano, singing, composing music (usually just little snippets of stuff that pop into my head), going on random roadtrips, drama club, musicals, music theory, trying to decide which college to go to.
Define “indie” [it could be a dictionary-type definition, or just what it means to you]: indie = not mainstream? i really don't know.
How'd you get into indie music and movies? i had a musical crisis about four years ago when i realized i was still listening to jock jams and hanson. i just knew there had to be something else out there that sounded different than what i was listening to. i just needed a change, and i found it in indie music. even today, i look for music that has something unique about it, mainstream or not. i'm not big into copycats.
How’d you find us? lj search.
It would be super nice if you could promote us in your userinfo or a community... super, super nice: it shall be done.
If you had duct tape, a tree, allergy medicine and a penny, how would you save the world from a giant-monster-like-thing trying to eat it? [you must use all the items] hey, i think i helped come up with this question! i would glue the penny to the tree so the monster would be all like, ooh pretty penny, and try to take it off of the tree, but he couldn't because it would be glued on! then i would duct tape him to the tree really tightly and...dangle allergy medicine in front of his face? yea, i tried.
Fill in the blank: Tomorrow is ______________. another day of school.
Do you ever get told that you look like someone famous? i look a little like johnny cash with my peacoat on...
One thing about anything that you wish you could change: i think i would change the way politics work in this country.
What are your opinions on politics? see above question.
Make us laugh: one time, vanessa carlton walked into the pet shop i used to work at. i asked her if she wanted to buy a raffle ticket to help support the local humane society, and she said no!
Pictures [this is optional, we just kind of want to make sure you're not some really creepy old guy]:

possibly the only good picture ever taken of me.

my halloween costume...i wore it to school, around town afterschool, and for trick-or-treating. isn't the walker hardcore?

opening presents at my surprise party...i got tons and tons of yarn to feed my crocheting addiction.
