but yea, i've got a question for all you indiefolk, i'm into bands like gregory and the hawk, the blow, deathcab, the decemberists, the weakerthans....basically...my question is this: which bands, in your opinion, have got the best, most explosive, lyrics?

If you want a band with really spectacular lyrics, check The Dismemberment Plan, particularly The Dismemberment Plan is Terrified and Emergency and I.

Oh wow, great bands...I believe Decemberists tell great stories, and Death Cab displays great emotion (I'm big fans of those two) but I'm not sure if I could say which has the best. I just got into gregory and the hawk! They're awesome!!

modest mouse has really great lyrics. very stream of consciousness with a lot of buried emotion. check out The Moon and Antarctica for some really heavy stuff (heavy in tone not sound).
