Most do. Some (Catholic hierarchy) more vocally than others (evangelical Christians).

Good point.
Some probably do oppose divorce.
In today's society that would mostly be the hardcore catholics.

a better question for today's society would be why they still oppose gay marriage.
kids can have a face full of metal, be covered head to toe in tattoos, have purple hair, or give birth to a child -- but two people who love each other can't have a happy life together as a married couple simply because of their gender?

it makes no sense when we're supposed to be a democratic country thats based on freedom from religious persecution.
seems ironic that our government chooses to oppose gay marriage based on the bible, especially since that violates the separation of church and state laws.
