I just realized I never commented to this.

This, my love, was fantastic. One thing about your writing, even from the Idol days, that has never changed is your ability to write character deaths perfectly and heartbreakingly. All the bits of this were interwoven so nicely and it's completely heartbreaking but also completely satisfying as well. I so look forward to more writing from you in this fandom. (And hopefully I can get my ass in gear and finish writing out all the fics in my head)

I'm not exactly sure what it is about death that draws me to write about it, but the fantastic thing about this fandom is that... death isn't ever certain. How many times have people died and then magically come back? The difficult thing about death is not dying but leaving the ones you love behind, and for Ianto who has lost so many people, I guess I wanted to write a story where he meets everyone he once loved who left him. So in a way, yeah, it's about death, but it's more about a journey -- crossing a bridge and all that.

Which I guess makes Jack... Charon. It's funny that the man most acquainted with death is the man who can never die.

Anyway, thanks for your feedback. I think it's so fun that I have a friend that crosses fandom!

I love the way you write death. It's painful and hopeful and ambiguous. I was completely engrossed in this, but it wasn't until Jack couldn't kiss Ianto goodbye that it hit me emotionally ( ... )

At the same time, I can't see this Lisa falling in love with Ianto until he is more hardened.

Indeed. I think she sees a spark in Ianto that maybe Dillon doesn't have, but she does tell him to come back when he's grown up more.

The only thing that bothers me is that if Jack doesn't remember anything when he comes back from death... well, did he actually kill himself to say goodbye? If he doesn't believe you can be reunited in death, it seems maybe he simply committed suicide after Ianto died. And he won't remember saying goodbye when he wakes up. And damn, but I think I just made the story darker.

I left that ambiguous. Parry doesn't think people are supposed to remember, but Ianto asks him if he could, if he would keep on trying. That's the kind of person Ianto would fall in love with, someone who would never give up even if that person had no certain answers. He wants someone who will be able to love him as intensely as he'll love him/her.

Ah... have any good porn recs?

I do (shame on me). Read anything by nightanddaze. I don't read PWP ( ... )
