NY Writers Coalition (NYWC) is excited to announce the first-ever NYWC
Write-a-Thon. This daylong writing festival will benefit NYWC's free,
unique and powerful creative writing programs across New York City.

The Write-a-Thon will bring together a hundred participants at
Manhattan's renowned Bowery Poetry Club to write, attend workshops and
take part in a lunch-time "Conversation on Writing" moderated by
Akashic Books publisher Johnny Temple. Scheduled writers include
novelist Amanda Stern, and other writers to be announced soon.

Sign up today and reserve your spot! It's easy. Just go to
[2]www.firstgiving.com/nywriterscoalition and create your own
personal Write-a-Thon page. Writers of all genres and levels of
experience are welcome; we believe that everyone has a voice and a
story, and Write-A-Thon activities are geared towards everyone. You
can use the day however best serves your writing needs; write on your
own, participate in ongoing workshops, or receive fun and stimulating
prompts from our "prompt stations" located throughout the club.

Like a walk-a-thon, our attendees will ask friends and family to
donate in support of their day of writing. These contributions will
help fund NYWC's creative writing programs for at-risk youth, the
homeless and formerly homeless, the formerly incarcerated, seniors,
and many others that aren't heard from often enough in our society.
Last year, NYWC held more than 450 workshop sessions at 25 locations
throughout NYC.

Once you've signed up, then spread the word to friends and family and
ask for their support of your writing day and for NYWC. Please note
that space is limited, so NYWC Write-a-Thon attendees must raise a
minimum of $100 in total pledges in order to attend. Anyone raising
more than $250 will receive special gift packages, so set your sights
high! In addition, prizes will be awarded to top pledge-getters, and
all attendees are invited to a special Write-a-Thon post-event
reception.

Bowery Poetry Club Doors will open at 10:00 am on June 3rd.
Write-a-Thon registrants will be supplied with writing materials, gift
bags, and light refreshments. A complimentary lunch will be also be
served.

Don't forget to check in at [3]www.nywriterscoalition.org for
Write-a-Thon news and updates about event activities and workshops,
guest author lists, and tips to help you reach, and surpass, your
fundraising goal!

Please also forward this on to anyone else you think would be
interested in joining us!
