As of yesterday, I am blocked from lj at work, which was about the only time I read it (and randomly on the weekend if I'm home). I've been working there two ( Read more... )

i wish there was a way for me to block LJ at home. hehe. i waste way too much time on it.

you would have loved going to the boston flower market - they had soo many beautiful orchids for arrangements. granted these were made for the cut flower market and so were cut already, but the flats of them looked so beautiful. so often i wish that boston had the LA model of the wholesale flower market that allowed for a once a week open to the public day pass, but alas, there are way too many hoops to jump through for a pass here. boo.

is the flower market something that's only around in the summer-time? that sounds amazing. just looking at flowers makes me a little crazy. i like to get flowers just to have around the house to cheer me up. places that let you pick your own flowers for arrangements are my favorite.

the orchid show in nyc is incredible. i missed it last year due to poor planning, but i'm definitely going again this year.

http://www.thebostonflowerexchange.com/ boston's wholesale flower market. it's indoors over on albany st, near 93 south. it's "to the trade" only.

i've never been to a pick your own flower place! are there some in the area?

you mentioned the orchid show last year and it sounded wonderful. when is it?

it sound so neat, too bad i wouldn't be able to get in the building! ninja time!

the Brattle Square Florist actually allows people to go back where the cut flowers are and pick whatever you want. the people that work there are really nice, too.

the orchid show is usually around the 2nd or 3rd weekend in April, website! They don't have this year's dates up yet, though. If you wanna go with me, I have friends there we can stay with. I almost had a group going last year but it didn't work out.

the Boston flower show is fun too, though i'm usually more excited about the vendors than the displays.

Yeah, I'm not surpriced that there are some companies that are doing virus scans and making sure that the Internet Policy blacks out any blogs that are written in their LAN line.

pretty ghey.
i guess there are too many different recipe sights that all the chicks who i work with spend time browsing on for them to be able to block all of them.

Yea...it's happening the same thing in my medical building. I can completely understand that when IS tends to check for virus scans periodically throughout the month and finds one virus issue in any blogs, then they block people from getting that kind of access through their intranet system.
