I have some old lizard stuff in a box in the basement. I'm not sure what's in there anymore but it's probably something like a nice bright light setup and a heating pad. It's been in a nicely labeled box in the basement for four years or so, and I'm unlikely to get a lizard again anytime soon, so if you'd like it, mumble something in my direction and we'll devise a plan to get it to you.

Also if you do end up needing footcandle-to-whatever conversions, Google will answer searches like "1000 lux in footcandles" with "1 000 lux = 92.9030436 footcandles."

Keen, thanks for offering! It wouldn't hurt to look at the stuff and run some little tests with it.

Most orchid junk is usually measured in footcandles, that's why I'm so happy with the light meter I have... it doesn't require me to do any conversions, though some people go by lumens over fc... it's just not something my brain has been able to grasp yet.

I'll pull it out of the basement sometime this week and wave a light meter at it, see how bright it is etc., then ( ... )
