So- went to Noc Noc last night- since it was D's B-day and my girl Jane is in town. This is the first Sunday I have gone out there and gah- not what I wanted. So- Jane was asking me about where I usually go out and such and I started thinking ( Read more... )

I was never that big of a fan of Vogue, decent venue but the drinks and the music were always lacking for me.

I like Merc but I feel like if you REALLY want to do goth, that's the place to go, which is both good and bad.

I like Noc best, but on the goth nights or 80's nights only; I like the layout, the drinks, the decor, and usually, the music.

Also, yes, men are quite retarded.

i hate the noc noc due to the bottleneck where the dj booth is. also, the bathroom for the women is in the shittiest location ever.

same can be said for the merc, but i see more people i know there and i like that the best.

vogue has an ambiance that i've never completely clicked with.

they all suck.

I'm usually with the people I know- so it doesn't matter which place.
At the Noc- it does bottleneck a bit and people have to cross the dancefloor- but it never really bothers me.

Pffttt- not having clubs would suck more :)

Yeah, the last few times I've ventured out to the Noc on a Sunday night it's been Unofficial Drunk Canadian Fratboy night. I am rapidly growing less impressed, although it makes me want to patronize the place more, since the only reason they let those wankers in at all is because business has been so poor of late.

I tend to agree with your assessments, with minor changes in emphasis. For example, I like the atmosphere at the Merc the most. It has the best "feel" for me. However, the physical layout of it is lacking. That is a minor quibble, and one that I can easily overlook since I don't actually go out to the dancefloor much. However, I hate me the smoking. If I'm there, it is only because my friends have gone...I just can't work up any enthusiasm to go deal with the smoke on my own ( ... )
