Ok, but honestly, your professor was just trying to bridge the male/female gap.

Guys don't really know what a "good cry" is. Heck, I seriously don't remember the last time I cried. I have no concept of what makes a "good cry" so great. Seems like to me that if you're crying that something really really bad must be happening to the point that you mentally breakdown...

However, as a male, I do understand the joys of a good dump. Taking a dump completely refreshes a man's soul. It clears his mind, spirit, and bowels. What on Earth could be better?

Having a good cry really is like having a good dump - but a good one, not just your pedestrian four-hours-after-eating kind.

Never underestimate the value of expressing waste from your bowel. Mmm .. Mmmmmm... in fact, I might just go take a dump now, and follow it up with a good cry about being sans-computer for a whole day...
